Not really Toyota related but I did find my truck with this machine...

I'd like to sell my dual core tower and two monitors, a 22" Lacie Electron Blue III CRT and 17" Acer LCD. It's got 1Gig of RAM, and a 240 Gig hard-drive. I bought this machine brand new from Apple online in 2005, I'd like to replace this machine with something a little more i line with my wife's needs. I'll be selling it with all the current software on the machine included, Adobe CS3, MS Office, Vectorworks and many others...

Shoot me a PM if you or anyone you know is interested...

Don't mean to sound like a jerk or anything but a 5 year old PPC-based Mac isn't likely to sell for much these days. Due to Apple switching to x86 and a lot of newer software no longer supporting the older cpu architecture you'll be hard pressed to find a buyer. However it does have Photoshop CS3 on it, so I'd suggest posting an advert somewhere some college/uni arts student would likely see it. Unfortunately, the monitors are probably worth more than the machine.

Thank you for pointing out that I've been living under a rock for all these years, who knew that apple had switched to intel processors, I may as well throw it out. Ahh, but the greedy side has gotten the better of me again, thinking I could turn a profit off of a seemingly worthless pile.
Mag, I truly appreciate your insiteful comments, but alas, contrary to your statements, someone might find a decent use for this machine as it was a great performer when I bought and to this day it has not let me down. Again, if anyone is interested in a great machine, as a render box or as a network machine, this computer will serve you well...
Now I need to figure out what to do with my severely outdated pickup truck...it's a 2001, Rumor has it that Toyota has a new V6, anyone have any ideas?

Actually, you might get the best price for it if you advertise it around UofG to Arts' students, many of whom likely can't afford a new setup and would -love- to have a capable machine that runs Photoshop and has the finger-paint-and-crayons OS they'll understand. I'd start by putting up flyers around the campus asking for $300 or so, should sell quick.

I wasn't trying to say it'd be impossible to find someone who'd buy it, just hard due to the machine's age.

So, by needing a computer that better suits your wife's needs you're talking about a custom-built x86 machine with lots of ram, a big disk, and Windows 7, right? Gonna move up in the world?

As for your truck, if you're just lookin' to get rid of it and don't want anything for it, I have an empty space in my driveway...

I've never had an Apple computer before, so don't know much about it... but if it gets to the point where you just want to get rid of the thing, let me know. I'm going to be computer-less in a few days, so I'm going to need something.

There's no real urgency on my end to get rid of it so to speak but we'd certainly like to replace it fairly soon, so I'm willing to let the whole lot go for $700 but it's not a huge rush for me...

Why computer-less Shiny?

I have a spare motherboard and power supply, could throw together a system for you for a few hundred bucks (cost of cpu, ram, case, hdd) that would more than suit your needs.

Of course, if all you do is web-browsing and not much else, you might want to look into a nettop, such as the EEEpc box. They're cheap, and are more than capable of running a browser.

Uh, cause the one I had isn't coming with me.

I might take you up on that offer... few hundred is about the most I'd be willing to spend right now. I'll let you know.
