I finally decided to put my Runner build on the new SONTT.
We've owned this 4Runner for a few years. It started life in my family as a daily driver for my wife for about 6 years. Then we bought another car, and it became my toy. So here is the lowdown.
The way it was when we bought it.
Specs. When Purchased1990 Toyota 4Runner 25th Anniversary Edition. 3.0l V6, A340 Transmission / Transfer Case. Stock IFS and Stock 8" Rear, 4.10:1 Gearing, and 215-75 R15 Goodyear Wrangler AT's.
Exterior Upgrades1. Bronco 2 Roof Rack (to mount a rooftop carrier to)

2. 31" Michelin LXT on stock alloys

3. Bush Bar with 55w Baja Lights with 100w bulbs

4. 32" Roughrider AT's on stock alloys.

5. Quick Change CV (see write up in Cheap, Easy Mods (Will link a writeup) axles and Manual Hubs (note that the bolts are 1/2" x 1.5" grade 8 bolts with nyloc nuts - and the hubs I managed to find in Tafts a local pick'n'pull!

6. 33" Durango MT's on the same stock alloys and while in the process of painting (pay no attention to the date - it's wrong - new camera)

6.5. Had to replace the stock (rusted) front crossmember with 2"od 1/4"thick square tube.

7. Supposed to be OD Green Paint and 80's Mustang Hood Scoop

8. Stock 2nd Gen Tire Carrier and CB Antenna

9. YJ Front Bumper used as a Rear Bumper (soon to be changed/modded - side protection, raised and such)

10. Here is the way it stands as of September 06. (pay no attention to the date - it's wrong - new camera)

11. Extended Front and Rear Differential Breathers. Front runs up behind the wiper motor, and the rear exits 18" up the roll bar in the cargo area.
Front

12. Tube Doors. Well the weather was nice on Sunday so this is what I was working on. They are 1.5" od 1/8" thick square tube.

Painted - still not finished, but the handles work.

They aren't finished. I'm going to run another vertical bar from top to bottom closer to the hinge. I still need a padded arm rest to go from the vertical rear post to the upper bar. I may fill in the opening with expanded mesh, and maybe fill the door sill with diamond plate to keep crap in. I still need to cap off the top of the vertical post as well as the bottom bar.
Interior Mods1. Removed Cargo Carpet - see second roll bar picture
2. 1st. Gen Roll Bar to mount Hi-Lift and Fire Extinguisher

3. Cobra CB in the factory ashtray location
Upcoming Mods1. Welded stock 4cyl rear diff. Waiting install. (will be switched to an offroad camper trailer for spares after testing, Then installing a full spool.)

Yukon full spool waiting to be installed.

2. 2" Body Lift (homemade 2"x3"x3/16" steel blocks)
X. Roof Mount Light Bar and 4 more 55w Baja Lights upgraded to 100w bulbs (made the light bar - needs paint and lights)
Painted with extra set of fog that I have kicking around

Extra tabs for 2 more lights

They aren't finished yet - they still need a hoop to protect the lights from low hanging branches.
4. On Board Air and Auxiliary air tanks
X. Front Tube Doors
6. Reconfigure Rear Bumper
X. Homemade Winch Bumper and 8500lb winch - in progress.

With winch mounted/not finished.

The cover plates need to be regonfigured to ease the mounting of an old homebuilt tractor plow that I rescued from a neighbours.

8. Homemade Rock Sliders
9. 5.71:1 Gears (for front and rear)
10. 35"Mud Terrains
11. 2" Drive train lift
