Frame is boxed w 1/4", tow pts welded to frame and frame caps. Ugly but I have a lil more clearance, a reciever, and the base for some wing type things. Still have to decide what to do w the 1/4's...

Looks good man!

only one suggestion... you should gusset the recovery points. If you have a recovery from an angle the recovery clevis points will bend or rip out... reinforce the points, the last thing you want is welds popping. If you gusset the top you can create a step to access the roof rack, or somewhere to rest a frosty beverage.... THIRSTY!

my 2¢'s

yeah 43, not quite done yet lol. they are welded to the inside of the frame and go a good 4 inches back. i gusseted the inside the shackle holes w 1" square and tied that to the caps and receiver tube. the end caps are also bent 90 deg where they slide through the recovery point and are welded to the shackle tabs. should have taken more pics man.

i have to decide what to do w the 1/4's first then i can work on the wings and gussets to finish the ass off.

i know they will hold for straight pulls now but youre right about sideways tugs. i hate getting pulled out at an angle but sometimes its gotta be done man. i usually attach a tree strap to both tow points and the long strap off of the tree saver. this way both points are used and youre not going to tweak your frame (as bad).

goin to camp this weekend so shes gotta wait. may even attemt the trip in the van.... wish i had better tires...
